UTSUROI LIVE ARCHIVES
November 23 -December 19, 2020
Focus: Philippine – Japan Collaborations and Co- creations.
Co-organised with the Japan Foundation, Manila.

The period between 2014-2020 has generated mobility and collaboration opportunities for contemporary artists across Asia. These notable collaborations and co-creations particularly between Philippines and Japan respond to dynamic socio- political and cultural landscapes while making way to the creation of network and development platforms for artists contributing to practice and thought-making in the region.

As the world faces the challenges brought about by a pandemic, forcing artists to rethink models of cooperation and continuing collaborations, we look back to the history of exchanges as we attempt at collective visioning of the future.

1. XCHANGES
Olive Nieto and JK Anicoche begin an email exchange responding to the UTSUROI Live Archives Series. The two artist-teachers facilitated the Talk Exchanges of the series.

This serves as a beginning conversation, provocation, and propelling fuel to live/life performance.

2. VALUE EXCHANGE

Komunidad X conducted a series of interviews in November 2020 via Zoom with Filipino and Japanese Artists.
