– theater producer, critic and dramaturg, Director of the Fujimi Culture Hall KIRARI FUJIMII

From 1981 to 1996, he was a member of the Black Tent Theatre company, one of leading companies in the Japanese underground theater movement, established in the late 1960s. Since 1990 he has supported launching of Setagaya Public Theatre in Tokyo and in 1997 became its Chief Dramaturg and Program Director, supervising production in theater performances, workshops and publications. He was involved in numerous international collaborative projects with Asian and European theater artists.

In 2009, he established Asian Theatre Centre for Creation and Research and launched some projects for international collaboration and networking. In 2010, he became the Director of the Fujimi Culture Hall KIRARI FUJIMI located in Saitama prefecture. He has been teaching at Waseda University, Gakushuin University and Keio University.
