Guelan Luarca is a published playwright, translator, stage actor and director. He has twice been awarded First Prize in the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for his playwriting. His works as writer and director have been cited in annual best-of-theater round-ups by various critics and publications. He is currently developing a collaborative playwriting process called “Actors-sourced Playwriting.” He teaches Directing, Shakespearean Performance, and Theater Theory in the Fine Arts Department, Loyola Schools, Ateneo de Manila University. He is the current artistic director of Tanghalang Ateneo, the longest-running college theater company in the Ateneo.
