Komunidad X, the collective body of Sipat Lawin Inc., a Contemporary Cultural Laboratory, are co-organising with the Japan Foundation, Manila in launching kXchange.org, a Virtual Center for Contemporary Performance Philippines. Through its On(line)Stage and Live Archives programming, kXchange serves as the digital stage and resource center for learners and makers of performance to reflect on the past, confront the realities of the present and envision necessary change for the future.

In collaboration with the Japan Foundation, Manila in the website’s Live Archives Program inaugural season, we bring you the UTSUROI Live Archives Series of performance documentation showings, artists interviews and panel discussions on the diverse works and collaborations, dynamic performance development platforms and robust networks between Philippines and Japan.

KOMUNIDAD X (KX) is an anti-disciplinary* collective committed to creating “life”performances for civic engagement and social development. Comprised of social act-ors working at the intersection of art, culture and development, it is the collective arm of Sipat Lawin Inc (SLI) an edge-work contemporary cultural laboratory. 

KX is primarily based in Manila, cultivating a social ecology of performance development platforms with different communities across the Philippines and around the world.

This 2020 KOMUNIDAD X launches its inaugural year with a 3-year commitment to responding to the theme of climate and cultural crisis with the Komunidad X Project. In line with this, the collective is initiating inter-agency platforms towards the creation of art as/for social ecologies.
